A Visa Sponsor is an Australian employer or organization that supports and nominates an overseas worker for a visa to live and work in Australia. The sponsor takes responsibility for the worker’s employment and ensures they meet the visa requirements. The employer must be approved by the Australian government and agree to certain obligations, such as providing the worker with appropriate employment and complying with workplace laws. A visa sponsor is typically required for specific work visas, such as the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) or the Temporary Skill Shortage (subclass 482) visa.
An employer sponsor is an Australian business that is approved (or may be eligible to apply) to sponsor overseas workers under employer-sponsored visa programs. Sponsorship generally involves the employer nominating a role and, if the visa is granted, employing the worker in accordance with visa conditions and workplace laws.
Our sponsorship placement service connects candidates with employers who may be willing to consider sponsorship pathways (including subclasses 407, 482, 186 and 494). We provide introductions and coordination support (e.g., matching, interview scheduling and employer engagement).
Important: We do not provide migration advice, assess visa eligibility, prepare nominations/visa applications, or liaise with the Department. Visa advice and lodgement must be handled by a registered migration agent or immigration lawyer.
