Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Work&Study Australia (WSA)?
We are a specialised recruitment consultancy dedicated to helping eligible students and skilled candidates secure employer sponsorship in Australia. Our focus is on connecting qualified individuals with approved Australian employers who can sponsor overseas/onshore workers under skilled visa programs, including Subclass 407, 482, 186, and 494.

By bridging the gap between talent and employers, we create opportunities for career growth, legal work pathways, and in many cases, a pathway to permanent residency in Australia.

Please note: We are not a registered migration agent or a direct employer. Our role is to facilitate connections between candidates and sponsoring employers.
What does WSA do?
WSA facilitates the process of sourcing genuine employers willing to sponsor skilled candidates under visa subclasses such as 482, 186, and 494. We also assist candidates seeking Training Visa (407) placements and employment positions for the JRP.
What services does WSA provide?
WSA provides three core services:

  • Employer Sponsorship Procurement for Skilled Visas (482, 186, 494)

  • Host Employer Placements for Training Visa (407) candidates
    Job Ready Program (JRP)

  • Employer Placements for international graduates in Australia

We manage employer introductions, organise interviews, and assist in securing employment contracts.
How does WSA assist candidates applying for a Training Visa (Subclass 407)?
WSA sources structured training opportunities through Australian host employers, enabling candidates to meet the training visa requirements while gaining valuable Australian work experience in their occupation.
Who pays for the Employer Placement Service?
All fees associated with the Employer Placement Service are paid by the candidate. This includes the cost of employer search, arrangement of interviews, communication with employers, and any administrative services provided by Work&Study Australia (WSA) throughout the placement process.

WSA operates as a consultation and facilitation service, not as a recruitment agency or migration agent. The candidate is responsible for all service fees outlined in their agreement, and these fees are not contingent upon the outcome of any specific employer placement.
How does WSA benefit candidates seeking Skilled Visas?
WSA helps candidates by connecting them with SBS-approved employers who are actively seeking skilled workers. This connection significantly improves the candidate’s chances of obtaining employer sponsorship under Australian migration pathways.
Does WSA guarantee visa approvals or sponsorships?
No. But WSA guarantees to endeavour to procure an employer sponsor, training placement, or JRP employer, but visa approval is dependent on external factors such as employer discretion, candidate eligibility, and Australian immigration decisions.
Why should an agent or candidate work with WSA?
Working with WSA provides access to a trusted employer network, faster sponsorship pathways, and a streamlined placement process—saving candidates and agents time, expanding opportunities, and increasing success rates without unnecessary delays.
How does WSA support candidates completing the Job Ready Program (JRP)?
For international graduates, WSA helps secure employment opportunities necessary to fulfil the work experience requirements under the JRP, supporting future Skilled Visa applications.
Do I need to pay the employer any money?
No. Candidates are not required to pay the employer any fees at any stage of the process. This includes fees for job interviews, offer letters, employment contracts, or sponsorship agreements.

Under Australian law, it is unlawful for employers to seek or accept payment from candidates in exchange for employment opportunities, sponsorship, or job placement.
Frequently Asked Questions

What is Work&Study Australia (WSA)?
Work&Study Australia (WSA) is a consultation-based employer introduction and coordination service. We support skilled international candidates by presenting their profiles to potential employers and education providers for role-fit consideration (e.g., occupation, skills and experience) and coordinating introductions and interviews where requested. We do not provide migration advice, assess visa eligibility, prepare visa/nominations, or liaise with the Department.

Outcomes are not guaranteed and depend on employer needs and independent migration advice.
Is WSA a migration agent?
No. WSA is not a registered migration agent and does not provide migration advice. We do not assist with visa applications, visa strategy, or immigration outcomes. For migration advice, clients must consult a registered migration agent or immigration lawyer.
Does WSA guarantee a job or sponsorship?
No. WSA does not guarantee employment or sponsorship. We facilitate introductions, but all decisions are made by the employer and depend on business needs and legal requirements. WSA does not provide migration advice or assess visa eligibility.
What services does WSA provide?
WSA provides consultative employer introduction and coordination support, which may include:

  • Professional profile review and presentation support (e.g., CV/summary formatting and role-fit positioning)

  • Employer outreach aligned to the candidate’s nominated occupation, skills and experience

  • Presenting candidate profiles to potential employers for role-fit consideration, including employers who hold, or may be eligible to obtain, Standard Business Sponsorship (where applicable)

All employment and sponsorship decisions are made solely by the employer and are subject to business needs and legal requirements.
Is WSA an employer or sponsor?
No. WSA is not an employer, not a sponsor, and is not affiliated with any single employer. We operate as an independent employer introduction and coordination service, assisting candidates by identifying and engaging potential employers in the broader market and facilitating introductions where appropriate.

Important: WSA does not make employment or sponsorship decisions and does not provide migration advice or assess visa eligibility. All employment and sponsorship decisions are made solely by the employer and are subject to business needs and legal requirements
What do WSA service fees cover?
